Dental Anguish
i had my roots planed yesterday.
mmmm, fun AND bloody
i highly suggest that you get yourself to a periodontist and get it done, electively!
they scrape your teeth into the root pockets, and then use a planar to smooth your roots.
ever planed a sticky door? same idea!
they did my whole mouth -- normally they do one quadrant at a time. i looked like someone absolutely kicked the shit out of me.
i got home and had bloody drool down my chin, and on my shirt. my lips were swollen to 4 times their normal size and i had no feeling on my face, so there was snot mixed in.
and today?
no pain.
Nothing.
thank god for mouths. they heal super-ultra fast.
it was awful.
ever had a needle in the roof of your mouth?
it's like white hot lightning straight into the back of your eyes.
i got two pokes in the soft palette.
and, get this.
as i was leaving to go to the dentist in the morning, i tried in vain to find my referral card with the phone number and address.
i looked for half an hour.
no luck.
No address card, but found my way there by luck.
Then, two hours into the three hour procedure.
the receptionist came in and said.
"mr fowler, you need to call your wife before you go home."
knowing how long it took me to not find the info re: dentist, I started to panic.
inner monologue: what could have gone so wrong that jenny would look so hard to find the info re: where I am be able to find the info of where i am at..
kid dead?
kidney failure?
mom died?
dog got hit by car?
house robbed?
sat in the chair for another 45 minutes, with mind reeling and pain and blood pouring out of my mouth.
Got done, called jenny:
"whbstheff maffer?"
her response?
"i'm having trouble with the printer"
she called my actual dentist to find out where they had referred me to call me to ask for advice with the printer.
i had adrenaline sweat, body odor it panicked me so much.
