Hamburger topped with a Fried Egg
Had an Absinthe takeout lunch today with Andrew today -- a thing I've never done. I've had bar snacks there with Jenny on ocassion, and had dinner once, but never for lunch.
It's been a hard week, so we decided to get a Niman Ranch burger. Looking at the menu they had a suggested topping of a fried egg and spicy onions.
We both went for it.
It was amazingly good. The egg came over medium, with the yolk just runny enough. The beef, tasty Niman rach, came unadorned aside from the egg and onions. It packed a lot of flavor, and the juicy burger made a surprising match for the fried egg. I. Would. Never. Have. Thought. It. Would. Work. But it did.
