...so we micro-chipped his ass
Pilot ran away from home on Saturday. We had folks over helping build the studio, and the gate was open, and there were happy screams of kids inside the house and all was good except for in the eyes of the dog.
He's got some side effects from the cortizone-like pills he is taking -- he's perpetually hungry and thirsty. Not finding sympathy at home he headed out on his own.
Best as we can tell, he was meandering down Cedar, ended up on the corner of San Pablo, and walked into Animal Farm (pet food shop) - where he began to help himself to various snacks and treats. One of the staffers there took him to the Berkeley Animal shelter. We didn't get around to checking there until after they closed. We had one tough night of worry, without knowledge of his safety. Tossing, turning, sleepless night. The next day we got the call from the animal shelter - they had seen our flyer, and had our dog.
I headed over to pick up a stressed out dog, took him home, fed him and since then we've been cooped up with a sleepy dog with the stinkiest farts you can imagine. We have no idea what he ate to excrete a smell this awful.
We took him back to the shelter the next day to get him micro-chipped. Next -- if he ever gets out of our field of vision again -- they'll know where to call us.
Olivia -- you're next.

* by the way, they didn't actually ut the micro-chip in his ass. it's in his neck. i used the term 'in his ass' in the same way that someone would say 'bust a cap in yo ass' which, in fact, could mean they shot you in the arm.
