Email, written in the past, out of context
I have been reading (in the Atlantic Monthly) about research that says that most things are either viral or bacterial in nature. For example, they have recently proved that ulcers are caused by bacteria, and most cancers are slowly beginning to be classified that way as well. Very interesting.
Well, I had an ear infection, which mostly come from having a cold. I didn't have a cold. So either:
- a) I had a bacterial or viral infection.
- b) flying 11, 000 miles in a week caused it.
- c) it was some sort of parasite, I picked up in CR.
I have no idea which.
But the pressure built up so much, that on one night, I reached over and dropped the alarm clock on the floor and I couldn't hear it hit the floor... so either my floor disappeared, or I was deaf. So, at that point I was actually quite glad I had taken american sign language in school. I mean, after all I was deaf. What forethought!
After a while of the pressure being so great, It just popped. It could have been worse. The doctor had already prescribed Vicodin (which I ate faithfully every 4 hours with a large glass of chocolate milk). Don't get me wrong. It hurt. It really hurt. But it could have been worse.
