The Best Tacos in Berkeley
Finally.
After a two year quest of trying all the tacos I could find in the North and Western area of Berkeley, I found the best. All along I had been saying that best tacos usually originate form the inside of a truck. I've known this since my first visit to Los Angeles in my mid-teens.
I've had really good tacos in few other locations - Encinada in Baja California, down in Greenville on the way to Arroyo Seco. Tasty tasty. But until today I hadn't found them near my home.
Take the Gilman exit off of I80, turn toward the bay. The truck will be there in front of you. Monday through Saturday, Noon to 8 p.m.
Tacos: $1.25
(I highly recommend the carnitas. Mmmmmm, good. The chicken is probably good, but I try to stay away from chicken prepared in trucks - the effects of ill prepared chicken can haunt you for days.)
