Good Grief

STORY #3: THE BOY WHO COULDN'T MAKE UP HIS DAMN MIND!

[1]

Tjay walking along, hands in pockets of his coat, just like Charlie Brown,

with a picket fence behind him.

Thinking: WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WINTER THAT ALWAYS GETS ME DOWN? IT'S NOT

EVEN THAT COLD. BUT MAYBE IF IT WERE SUMMER, I WOULDN'T FEEL SO BAD.

[2]

(same as above frame, change only the background and the expression on

Tjay's face) (still thinking): BUT IN THE SUMMER, THE BLUE SKY JUST REMINDS

ME OF ALL THE GREAT THINGS I COULD BE DOING IF I WEREN'T AT WORK. NOT THAT

I'D DO THEM ANYWAY.

[3]

(same as above frame, change only the background and the expression on

Tjay's face)

BUT MAYBE I WORK TOO MUCH. I NEVER GET TO SEE MY GIRLFRIEND, WHOM I ADORE.

BUT THEN, IF I SAW HER MORE, SHE'D PROBABLY JUST GET SICK OF ME FASTER.

[4]

(arriving at a store called THE TRAP, gazing in the window)

MAYBE SHOPPING WILL CHEER ME UP. ISN'T BUYING STUFF SUPPOSED TO SOMEHOW

JUSTIFY THE HOURS OF DRUDGERY I SPEND, DAY IN AND DAY OUT, JUST FOR A FEW

MEASLY DOLLARS?

[5]

(inside store, looking panicked, sweating like Charlie Brown does)

OH NO! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I'M JUST ANOTHER COG IN THE WHEEL OF

CONSUMERISM! I HATE MYSELF!

[6]

(nose up, mouth open, classic Charlie Brown style)

ARGH!!!

[7]

(standing by a pile of sweaters on a table, yellow with a red zig-zag

across them, C.B.-style - Tjay is eyeing the sweaters suspiciously out of

the corner of his eyes)

WHY DO THESE STRANGE ZIG-ZAG SWEATERS SUDDENLY LOOK SO APPEALING?

[8]

(Tjay standing in the same place, eyes looking opposite direction of

sweaters, looking suspicious. in background, we see Charlie Brown trying on

a zig-zag sweater looking in mirror to the left, Akbar showing a zig-zag

sweater to Jeff to the right. Both are already wearing zig-zag sweaters,

and they're both wearing Fezzes.)

charlie brown (thinking): DO I ~LOOK~ WISHY-WASHY?

akbar: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?

jeff: I LOVE IT BUT I HATE IT.

akbar: I FEEL EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE.

THE END.

THE MORAL: DON'T WEAR ZIG-ZAG SWEATERS.
